Ohrwurm presents Kate Simko (USA) and SevenDoors (UK) at Nagaba KL on Merdeka Eve on Aug 30, 2015.

Getting her start stateside alongside Matthew Dear, Ryan Elliott, and the Spectral Sound crew, Kate Simko has consistently established a unique and solid voice in electronic music, fielding projects ranging from remixing modern classical composer Philip Glass, to composing film scores, to rocking jackin’ DJ sets, and producing her melodic, Chicago-flavoured take on house and techno.

Kate has established her reputation as a performer with interactive audio-visual live sets and cutting edge DJ mixes. Named one of Chicago’s “Top 10 DJs” by XLR8R Magazine, Kate has played clubs and festivals around the world, including past shows at Berghain (Berlin), Fabric (London), Rex Club (Paris), Verboten (New York), Millennium Park (Chicago), Movement Festival (Detroit), Montreal Jazz Festival, Eleven (Tokyo), and D-Edge (Sao Paulo).

Kate released her first full-length album in 2002 with Chilean Andres Bucci, and has since released various releases on labels such as Ghostly, Get Physical, Leftroom, and No.19. Up next for Kate are collaborations with Jamie Jones, the release of full-length album with Tevo Howard on Sasha’s label Last Night on Earth, and the debut release of her new project London Electronic Orchestra.

SevenDoors is a new producer from the UK who has already been heavily supported by Solomun. Pete Tong world-premiered two of his latest tracks on Exploited Ghetto (Exploited Rec’s sublabel) on BBC Radio 1 and directly got in touch to secure a remix for his label FFRR for the artist Icarus. His current track Movement of Whale on Diynamic is already one of the most hyped tracks in the net of 2015. His music has been supported by Solomun, Pete Tong, AME, Breach, Steve Lawler, Adriatique, Gardens Of God, Noir, Sasha, Riva Starr, Adana Twins, Greg Pidcock, Wildkats, Kaiser Disco, Sonny Fodera, Arthur Baker, Brothers Vibe, Reboot, Aki Bergen, Droog to mention a few. He has upcoming remixes on FFRR and Exploited for the Adana Twins as well as more original material in the pipeline. No gimmicks, no clicks, no clichés. This is the mantra of SevenDoors. A passion for music is evident, carefully crafting audio with feeling and emotion. SevenDoors is very much a concept, developed over many years and now ready to be unleashed upon the dance community.

Also appearing for the night at Nagaba will be Ohrwurm resident Alam, as well as Iman
