PISCO BAR presents Jesse Rose (UK) on OCT 24

Jesse Rose has helped twist the template of house music as we know it. By doing so, the DJ and producer has become a true pioneer in the expanding universe of dance music. Jesse has one of the most revered profiles in the scene. It takes deft, talent, and rigor to do it all like Jesse Rose does.

As a young boy growing up in London’s Ladbroke Grove (near Notting Hill), Jesse was raised on a healthy dose of Motown soul, jazz and 80s funk, and started making music at the tender age of fourteen. With humble beginnings and hefty determination, Jesse soon started DJing and running club nights with his close friend Jamie Anderson when they moved to Bristol in the early 90s. Eight years later Jesse returned to London, where he met the one man who became responsible for changing him from DJ to producer: Dave “Switch” Taylor. Their first collaborative productions caught the keen eye of Chicago’s Derrick Carter, who then released the tracks on his imprint Classic. Jesse’s first solo works on Switch’s Dubsided helped develop the expansion of house by mixing and morphing sounds from other genres – a tactic that resulted in hits like A-Sided” and You’re All Over My Head which shot Jesse to the forefront of the up-and-coming producer scene.

Jesse started his first label Front Room Recordings in 2000. Since then, he has a remarkable career by releasing his second label Made To Play, which turned into a powerhouse for unearthing and nurturing fresh talent, Made To Play found its defining sound, which was then brought straight to Berlin in 2006 where the label took residency nights at the legendary Panorama Bar for six years.

From 2009–2014, Jesse released massive hits and records such as debut album What Do You Do If You Don’t?. 2013 saw Jesse signing to TSZ/Roc Nation, and the start of his 12×12 series, where he put out a new release every month. This, along with remixes of Bob Marley, Calvin Harris, Duke Dumont, Kendrick Lamar, Kimbra, Roisin Murphy and more, put a heavy dent in his discography. Jesse released two albums in 2014, and by March this year, he started his latest record label, A-SIDED, and embarked on a global summer tour that took him from Europe to Asia to North America and back. And that’s rotating again, with a brand new world tour kicking off in the fall. It seems Jesse has much more up his sleeve
